Adele Crane (she/her)

Adele is a postdoctoral fellow with the Avanzi research group and is located at Colorado State University, USA. She focuses on leprosy pathogen genomics, transmission dynamics of the disease, and drug resistance. After her undergraduate studies, Adele joined the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History to develop a database of scientific collections and help build a reference DNA barcode library. Adele then pursued her PhD in evolutionary biology with the Stone laboratory at Arizona State University, USA. Her dissertation covered the evolutionary genetics and spatial dynamics of Mycobacterium leprae in the Pacific and Brazil. Outside of work, Adele enjoys hiking and birdwatching with her dog.
